This award-winning project presented a complex build, with the addition to the rear of the existing home dug in to the earth to take advantage of thermal benefits. The external laminated timber fascia wrap involved precision detail to be able to tolerate all weather conditions and be sealed. The interior gives an earthy feel with its clever design allowing zoned or open plan living. The use of American Oak flooring, Victorian Ash linings, charcoal stainless steel skirting, joinery finished in low VOC paints demonstrate the attention detail and fine workmanship in this project. Some creative engineering solutions allowed for a central fire place and hearth adding to the warmth of the home.
